Just a quick note on how to snack healthy!!
Who doesn’t love a hash brown!!! And it’s ok to have these occasionally. We’re all human and it’s always better to have it and satisfy the urge. However, if you do treat, then try and balance your plate.
Remember too many carbs may satisfy you initially, but spare a thought on what effect it will have on your blood sugars an hour or two later!
So, how can we balance this?? Instead of 3 or 4 hash browns, have 2!! Add some healthy fats, such as olives or avocados, nuts & seeds, and add some fibre too. Don’t forget, fruit and vegetables also contain carbohydrates, but the type that doesn’t spike your blood sugars instantly and then drop. Healthy fats can also help balance blood sugars.
